Mühlwald and the nearby villages of Weissenbach, Uttenheim, Prettau and St. Johann are home to several wonderful toboggan runs, some floodlit at night. After the long climb up the hill you can enjoy typical local specialities in rustic mountain huts, at cosy snack bars or in modern restaurants before zooming back down the well-groomed runs.

Cross-country skiing:
just three kilometres from the Hopfgartnerhof, on the shaded side of the Mühlwald Valley, is a marvellous cross-country ski trail – snow guaranteed. The magic of winter and the unspoilt nature of the valley will inspire you as you glide along. Further trails can be found in Rein, Weissenbach and Prettau.

Ski tours and snowshoe excursions:
the Mühlwald Valley is a paradise for ski tourers and snowshoe enthusiasts alike, with numerous routes possible such as the relatively simple Gornerberg (Henne) or the more demanding 3000-metre peaks at the end of the valley (Möseler, Weisszint).

Tamarix Action Park:
this is the longest winter sports conveyor belt in South Tyrol and a special attraction in winter. Located some three kilometres from the farm, it offers fun and excitement for all, whether on toboggans or snow tyres, without the need for a long and arduous climb back up. The conveyor belt brings you back to the top in just a few minutes for you to enjoy the downhill runs to the full.
